José Almeida is a Brazilian visual artist, creative director, illustrator, animator and storyteller whose multidisciplinary career spans fine arts, animation, immersive experiences and international advertising. With over two decades of experience, his work explores the intersection between mythology, spirituality, memory and contemporary visual culture through both traditional and digital media.

 

As founder and Creative Director of Animuz and co-founder of AniMORF, Almeida has led award-winning projects recognized by D&AD, Clio Awards, El Ojo de Iberoamérica and the Clube de Criação de São Paulo, while also contributing to internationally acclaimed productions, including the Sports Emmy® Award-winning Sphere experiences. In 2026, his artistic practice expands internationally with participation in the exhibitions LIFE: Moments in Time at Scot Art Gallery part of the world acclaimed The Fringe Festival, and the Esposizione Artistica Internazionale at Museo Ugo Guidi 2 in Massa, Italy, further establishing his presence within the contemporary art scene.
